<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified cross sectional fiber showing a sufficient metallic gloss as an aesthetic property, excellent in light-weight feeling and warmth-holding property and strong toward bending, and an efficient method for producing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This modified cross sectional fiber consisting of a polymer having crystallinity, and having hollow parts at its inside has 0.05-10 μm mean length (r) of the hollow parts in the thickness direction crossing at right angle to the oriented direction of the hollow parts, and having 10-90 (L/r) ratio of the mean length (L) of the hollow parts in the oriented direction to the above length (r), and a method for producing the same is also provided.
