<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper diaper having leg openings whose edges are hardly flapped, so that areas around legs look tidy for excellent appearance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The pants type paper diaper includes a contour sheet 1, an absorbent core 13 extending in the vertical direction around the crotch on the inner surface of the contour sheet 1, a waist opening part, and right and left leg opening parts. The pants type paper diaper has a girth area T composed of a waist part W and an under-waist part U; and a crotch area L. In the waist part W, a plurality of yarn-like or strip-like waist stretchable members 20F and 20B are provided in parallel to the circumferential direction at fixed vertical intervals.
