Provided is an X-ray image pickup device comprising an X-ray tube (3), a high-voltage generating unit (4), an X-ray detector (5) for outputting the image signals of the perspective image of a test subject (2), an image processing unit (10) connected with the X-ray tube through an A/D converter (9), for processing the image data of each one frame, a D/A converter (12), a monitor (13), and a pixel value detecting unit (17) for detecting an index value indicating the brightness of each frame outputted from the A/D converter. The image processing unit includes an image memory (11), a recursive filter (15) for multiplying the image of a frame acquired at present and the image preceding at least one frame individually by weight coefficients predetermined at the ratio of total of 1, and then by adding the products, and a weight coefficient changing unit (16) for increasing the weight coefficients, so that the total may exceed 1, when the index value detected by the pixel value detecting unit is smaller than a predetermined optimum value.
