<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touchdown bearing excellent in the idling stopping performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This touchdown bearing includes: an inner ring 61; an outer ring 62; and rolling elements arranged freely to roll between the inner ring 61 and the outer ring 62. Specific gravity or diameter of at least one rolling element 63b is formed to be different from the specific gravity and the diameter of other rolling elements 63a. With this structure, in a start of idling of the touchdown bearing, the rolling element having a different weight or diameter catches or delays up/from the adjacent rolling element due to a difference of inertia, and is brought into contact with the adjacent rolling element, and continues to slide.
