<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warmer for warming ready-to-eat food, capable of restraining the propagation of bacteria in the ready-to-eat food and restraining the excessive evaporation of moisture in the ready-to-eat food that occurs in restraining the propagation of bacteria. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The warmer 1a has: a container 10 storing the ready-to-eat food 90 that can be put in and out from the upper side; a heater 30 for heating the container 10; a control unit 61 including a function of heating the container 10 by the heater 30 up to a temperature for the purpose of sterilizing the ready-to-eat food 90 in the container 10; and a force-cooling means 50 for forcibly dropping the temperature of the container 10.
