摘要 The present invention relates to compositions comprising stimuli- responsive materials which can be used for delivery of agents. Materials are provided that can respond to changes in a surrounding environment, including changes in ion concentration. For example, one or more properties of the material may be affected by a change in pH and/or a change in the concentration of an ion. Such properties may include, for example, a dimension of the material (e.g., volume), the permeability of the material, and the like. In cases where the material comprises a therapeutic or diagnostic agent, the material may undergo a change in the rate of release of the agent upon exposure to certain conditions. The invention may also provide the use of said compositions for the manufacture of a medicament for delivering a therapeutic or diagnostic agent, in some cases, with enhanced selectivity and sensitivity.
