<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately confirm the value of a setting item associated with an icon, and to change the value of the setting entry only by a simple operation, and to easily change the setting item displayed as an icon and the layout of an icon menu. <P>SOLUTION: By a computer 15 executing a driver program 14, processing units 31-35 are implemented. The icon display processing unit 31 interprets an icon list described as text data in markup language, and makes a display 12 display an icon associated with a setting item in the icon list. When a click operation is detected, the setting change processing unit 33 changes the value of the setting item associated with the clicked icon to another value.
