PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control device for a range hood preventing damage due to abnormal torsion torque generated in a fan and a motor shaft without rapidly increasing the speed of rotation of the motor shaft of an electric motor, when one operation button of a switch is operated and then, an operating button indicating one stage faster speed is operated immediately. SOLUTION: In the range hood, by rotating the fan 12 mounted to the motor shaft 11a of the electric motor 11, air within the hood 1 is collected and is discharged to an outdoor side. In the case where a weak button 21 of the switch 20 for selecting the operating state of the range hood 1 is operated to input a weak operation signal and then, an intermediate button 22 indicating one stage faster speed is immediately operated to input an intermediate operation signal, a motor control device 30 for performing driving control of the electric motor 11 operates the electric motor 11 at a low speed only for a fixed time, and then, operates it at an intermediate speed, so as not to change the rotation of the electric motor 11 rapidly.
