<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the state of an apparatus on a network without transmitting an irregular response request to the apparatus on the network. <P>SOLUTION: A sleep determination part of a CPU determines whether a difference in content exists between first apparatus information and second apparatus information acquired from an image forming apparatus in a step 12, determines that the image forming apparatus is in a sleep state in a step 13 when the existence of the difference is determined, and then, in a step 14, transmits a regular transmission suppressing signal to a network control part, and suppresses the transmission of an apparatus information request packet which is regularly requested from the network control part to the image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
