<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermometer supporting structure capable of preventing an damaged thermometer well from dropping off into piping, and to provide a nuclear power plant employing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The structure for supporting the thermometer well 1, which protects a thermometer for measuring a temperature of a fluid flowing through the piping 2, includes: the thermometer well 1; and a thermometer seat 3 being disposed at the piping 2 and having an insertion hole 5 into which the thermometer well 1 is inserted. The thermometer well 1 is characterized by having a mounting part 1c for a mounting operation on the thermometer seat 3 and a locking part 1a which is positioned inside the mounting part 1c in the radial direction of the piping and inserted in the insertion hole 5, and by forming a space between itself and the inner circumferential surface of the insertion hole 5, wherein the insertion hole 5 has a movement limiting part 5a for limiting a movement of the thermometer well 1 toward the inside in the radial direction of the piping.
