Provided is a powder cosmetic which exhibits excellent transferability to an application tool, and excellent feelings in use such as spreadability on the skin. The makeup applied using the powder cosmetic rarely comes off. Further, the powder cosmetic exhibits excellent compactability and impact resistance. The powder cosmetic comprises both a powder component as the main component and a powdery sucrose fatty acid ester. The powder cosmetic can be produced by incorporating a powdery sucrose fatty acid ester, without heat-melting the powdery sucrose fatty acid ester, into a powder component by mixing.
