<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent printed contents on the spread right and left pages of a printed matter which is spiral-book-bound from being deviated in a vertical direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section configured to form an image based on a print job in an image forming area on each of a plurality of pages of a recording medium (S113); and a control unit configured to, when the spiral book binding processing is specified with respect to the print job (YES at S110), shift the image forming area so that the positions of the image forming areas in the vertical direction on the spread right and left pages of the book-bound recording medium may align with each other (S116, S117, S110, S111).
