<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HDD-equipped DVD recorder to which arbitrary information can be input in accordance with each title and a stream. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The recorder includes: an encoding means 11 sequentially encoding each of digital sound signals and digital image signals input from a first external apparatus; a multiplexing means 12 sequentially multiplexing at least encoded sound and image data encoded by the encoding means and search data in predetermined units; first and second recording means 14 and 15 recording the data multiplexed by the multiplexing means into a first information recording medium 14m and a second information recording medium 15m, respectively; an input means 13 for inputting user information from a second external apparatus; and a control means 18 recording the user information input by the input means into the first and second recording mediums by the first and second recording means, respectively.
