<p>This invention relates to compositions and methods for lowering intraocular pressure and treatment and/or prevention of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The invention provides insulin, insulin like growth factor, placenta growth factor, their isoforms, their analoges, their gene-engineered modifications, and combinations thereof for lowering of intraocular pressure, for increasing success rate of surgical procedures for the treatment or prevention of glaucoma, and for neuroprotection of retinal ganglion cells.</p> |
