PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having high rewriting characteristics, stability of printing and erasing characteristics with time and high heat resistance and added to a reversible thermally sensitive recording material and the reversible thermally sensitive recording material comprising the compound and to provide a reversible thermally recording medium having the material. SOLUTION: This new compound is characterized in that the compound is represented by the following general formula [1] or [2]. R1-X-Ar-R2-Y-R3 [1] in the general formula [1], R1 group and R3 group denote each a >=1C organic group; R2 group is a bivalent organic group selected from >=1C groups; X group and Y group are each any bivalent group of oxygen atom, sulfur atom, an ester, a thiourea, urea, a thioamide, an amide, a diacylamine, a diacylhydrazine and an oxalic diamide; Ar group is any of phenyl group, naphthyl group and biphenyl group) or R1-X-Ar-Y-R3 [2]. |
