PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Viola mandshurica extract is provided to suppress melanogenesis and ensure skin whitening. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains Viola mandshurica fermentation extract as an active ingredient. The Viola mandshurica fermentation extract is isolated by adding 50-200 weight parts of saccharides to 100 weight parts of Viola mandshurica and fermenting at 10-30°C for 150-200 days. A cosmetic composition for antiaging contains the Viola mandshurica fermentation extract as an active ingredient. An antibacterial cosmetic composition contains the Viola mandshurica fermentation extract as an active ingredient. The Viola mandshurica fermentation extract is contained in 0.001-90 weight parts based on 100 weight parts of the composition. The cosmetic composition is used in the form of skin, emulsion, cream, gel, essence, or pack.
