PURPOSE: A digital photographing device including a focusing value detection unit, a control method and a recording medium storing program therefor are provided to perform exact and rapid auto focusing according to photographing condition. CONSTITUTION: A lens unit(10) includes focus lens. A photographing device(30) generates data from incident light passing through the lens unit. A situation determining unit determines photographing status from data which the photographing device generated. An auto focusing value detecting unit(54) having a first gamma correction unit(541) detects auto focusing value from the data which the photographing device generated.
