PURPOSE: A method and a device for controlling a monitoring system are provided to prevent blank monitoring situations in a monitoring area. CONSTITUTION: Whether a first monitoring object swerves from an available monitoring area is determined(S502). At least one candidate monitoring device, which can connect with a first monitoring device, is searched(S504). Based on the mode of each candidate monitoring device, a second monitoring device interlinks to the first monitoring device among the candidate monitoring devices(S506). A control operation is performed to monitor a first monitoring object by interlinking the second monitoring device and the first monitoring object(S508).
