Novel pyrrolo [3, 2-d] pyrimidin-4-one derivatives and their use in therapy

Disclosed is a pyrimidin-4-one compound of formula I wherein at least one of X and Y represents S, and the other represents O or S; and wherein the rest of the substituents are disclosed within the specification. Also disclosed is the use of a compound of formula I in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prophylaxis of diseases or conditions in which inhibition of the enzyme MPO is beneficial such as neuroinflammatory disorders, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis and COPD. Also disclosed is a process for the preparation of compounds of formula I.
