The invention relates to telescopic sections where an inner telescopic section length (2) has a profile form to be rotationally positioned in a non-engaged mode with the profile form of the outer telescopic section length (1) such that relative axial movement between inner and outer sections is virtually friction free and where the same said inner section (2) may be rotated through a 1/8 th turn relative to the outer section (1) to a tightly engaged mode in which the walls of the inner section (2) are braced against the inner profile form of the outer section (1)such that free play is totally reduced to provide a rigid axial connection between inner and outer sections and in which a spring loaded detent pin (3) locks the inner section to the outer section. |
