PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel type electric vehicle which can suppress a dragging torque from increasing at low speed rotation, and can secure an efficient oil scraping quantity at high speed rotation with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A first side wall 14a for holding a stator 21 is provided at an inner side surface of an outside case 12a of an integrated case 12 for accommodating a motor 20, and a second side wall 14b is provided at an outer peripheral side relative to the first side wall 14a below the integrated case 12 so as to form an oil pool 19. The oil quantity stored in the oil pool 19 in a high speed mode is less than that in a low speed mode, accompanying rotation of a drive unit 10 based on a mode switch of a switching unit 5.
