PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial medical instrument and a medical material treated for suppressing the growth of wide-ranging bacteria including drug resistant bacteria including MRSA, pathogenic microorganisms such as trypanosomatid protozoan and cancer such as myeloma and leukemia.

SOLUTION: The medical instrument and medical material which have antimicrobial activity can be obtained by fixing, to a base material, polypeptide including X1-Lue-X2-Leu-X3-Ile-X4-Arg-Arg-NH2( wherein X1 is Arg or Ala, X2 is Tyr, Arg, or Leu, X3 is Arg or Ala, and X4 is Gly or Arg).
