PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new azimuth detection device and an azimuth detection method hardly generating a time-difference measurement error, even when rise of a signal becomes dull, or when an amplitude value of the signal is different. SOLUTION: Incoming radio waves are received at prescribed intervals, and each of reception signals is converted respectively into a middle frequency, and each area center gravity of pulse portions of an envelope is calculated respectively based on the envelope of the reception signals, and the incoming azimuth of the incoming radio waves is detected from a difference between calculated area center gravities and a prescribed distance. Otherwise, the incoming radio waves are received at prescribed intervals, and each of the incoming radio waves is subjected to fast Fourier transform respectively and a spectrum product is calculated, and the spectrum product is subjected to inverse fast Fourier transform and an area center gravity is calculated, and the incoming azimuth of the incoming radio waves is detected from a time difference and the prescribed distance at which incoming radio waves acquired from the calculated area gravity center are received at prescribed intervals.
