RESIN COMPOSITION, PENTAERYTHRITOL DERIVATIVE COMPOSITION, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition that can give a transparent thermoplastic molded article having excellent optical performances and suppressed degradation in the optical performances in a high temperature and high humidity environment, and to provide a pentaerythritol derivative composition to be added to the resin composition, and a method for producing the derivative composition. SOLUTION: The resin composition contains a pentaerythritol derivative composition expressed by general formula (1) by 1.0 to 3.0 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polymer having an alicyclic structure at least partially in a repeating structural unit, wherein the composition of the pentaerythritol derivative composition satisfies expression (a):0.2%≤[A0]≤2% and expression (b):60%≤A1+A2≤100%. In the expression (a), [A0] represents the mass percentage of the content of the compound having a structure of general formula (1) under the condition of n=0. In the expression (b), A1represents the peak area percentage of the compound having a structure of general formula (1) under the condition of n=1, measure by gel permeation chromatography (GPC); and A2represents the peak area percentage of the compound having a structure of formula (1) under the condition of n=2 measured by GPC.
