<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint structure of washing and spin-dry tub and a balancer of a washing machine which allows a balancer to be easily and securely joined to the upper inside of the washing and spin-dry tub even when the diameter of the balancer is reduced due to temperature difference by seasons and which provides improved assembly work efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the joint structure of the washing and spin-dry tub 4 and the balancer 5 in the washing machine for fixing the ring-shaped balancer 5 to the upper inside of the washing/drying tub 4 with screws, projection parts 9 are provided at suitable intervals on the joint surface of the washing and spin-dry tub 4 with respect to the balancer 5, screw holes 7 are respectively provided on the projection parts 9 and flat surface parts 4a without projection part 9, any of the screw holes 7 provided in the projection parts 9 or the screw holes 7 provided in the flat surface part 4a is selected, and then the selected screw hole 7 and a screw hole 6 provided in the balancer 5 are matched to fix the balancer 5 to the washing and spin-dry tub 4.
