摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method, device and program for determination of continuous defect which can quickly and surely detect any continuous surface defect successively-arisen in the direction of a longer hand a thin steel sheet. SOLUTION: The continuous defect determination method for analyzing distribution morphology based on information regarding surface defects arisen on the thin steel sheet F to determine the presence of continuous defect. This method includes an acquisition step S01 for acquiring coordinate data of two or more surface discontinuities, partitioning steps S03/S05 for partitioning the thin steel sheet into plural belt-like regions in the direction of a shorter hand, a cluster identification step S07 to identify clusters containing at least a part of surface discontinuity 1 by 1 for each belt-like region based on the distribution morphology defined by the coordinate data of two or more surface discontinuities contained in the belt-like regions, and a determination step S09 to determine whether these two or more surface discontinuities contained in the identified cluster fall under the category of continuous defect or not based on the distribution morphology showing association with the coordinate data of two or more surface discontinuities contained in the identified cluster.
