<p>The invention provides a method of producing a defect on the surface of an optical fibre, to an optical fibre directly obtained by this method, to a fibre-optic sensor comprising at least one such optical fibre and to a device for implementing the method, the method being characterized in that: (a) a maximum deformation of the optical fibre that it is desired to obtain in a region of the optical fibre is defined; (b) the geometry of the defect to be produced is determined from the maximum deformation defined in step (a); (c) a set of physical parameters characterizing a coherent light beam (1) to be emitted by a light amplification means (1) delivering ultrashort pulses depending on the geometry of the defect to be produced, is determined; and (d) the optical fibre is illuminated with a coherent light beam emitted by the ultrashort-pulse light amplification means, the physical parameters of said beam having been determined beforehand in step (c), so as to obtain the defect.</p> |
