<p>A base station communicates with mobile terminals existing within a subordinate cell, and in addition executes control to reduce interference from mobile terminals existing within adjacent cells. The base station measures the total interference power received from mobile terminals in all adjacent cells, and if the total interference power is greater than a preset value, issues a request to the base stations of all adjacent cells to reduce interference. The base station which has received the interference reduction request discriminates mobile terminals which impart interference to the base station which is the source of the interference reduction request, and reduces interference by either temporarily lowering the uplink data transmission rate or temporarily halting uplink data transmission for such mobile terminals.</p> |
