PURPOSE: A laundry machine and a mist generating device are provided to sterilize laundry or to remove bad smell by circulating air by supplying water to the discharge electrode, applying high voltage and then charging a discharge electrode to be negative. CONSTITUTION: A laundry machine is composed of a circulation path, a fan, a dehumidification unit, a heating unit and an electrostatic atomization apparatus(50). The electrostatic atomization apparatus comprises a discharge electrode, a water storing unit(53), a water supply unit, and a high voltage applying unit(58). The discharge electrode is formed from a porous material which has hygroscopicity. The leading end of the discharge electrode is projected into the circulation path. The water storing unit supplies the stored water to the discharge electrode. The water supply unit supplies water to the water storing unit. The high voltage applying unit applies high negative voltage to charge the discharge electrode to be negative. |
