<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system continuing the operation of a fuel cell even when a failure is generated at an operation supplying gas to the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 10 for circulating hydrogen gas supplied to an anode of the fuel cell has an opening/closing valve 66 in an exhaust gas exhausting passage 64 branched from an anode exhaust gas passage 63. At the system 10, if an abnormality is found in an invertor of the hydrogen pump 65 disposed in the gas passage 63, a hydrogen pump 65 is stopped, and the switching valve 66 performs control to prolong an opening period per unit time length. Since the gas passage 63 communicates with a dilution unit 26 by lower pressure when the valve 66 is opened, hydrogen discharged from a hydrogen tank 23 flows into the dilution unit 26 through a fuel cell 22 and the gas passage 63. Accordingly, the system continues to supply the hydrogen to the fuel cell 22 and can continue power generation even when the pump 65 is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
