<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging lens having high optical performance, though it is made compact and is inexpensive. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging lens comprises, in order from an object side, a meniscus first lens having a convex surface directed toward the object side and having negative power, a second lens having a convex surface on the object side and positive power, a biconcave third lens having negative power, and a meniscus fourth lens having a convex surface directed toward an image side and having positive power.
