PURPOSE: A method for managing data between a control point and at least one device in a digital living network alliance system and a system thereof are provided to transmit a sleep mode entry message to each device before a control point enters a sleep mode, thereby enabling each device to easily check a current state of the control point. CONSTITUTION: A control point(30) transmits a sleep mode entry message to at least one device(50) before sleep mode entry. The control point enters into the sleep mode. If an event is generated in at least one device, a corresponding device stores the event information about the event. If the control point cancels the sleep mode, the control point transmits a sleep mode cancellation message to at least one device.
