The invention relates to a method for monitoring the health status of the modules of the engine and the devices that affect the starting capability of an aircraft engine, including: acquiring engine and aircraft parameter measurements, said parameters affecting the starting capability of the engine, based on measurements acquired; extracting specific indicators selected because they represent the health status of the starting capability; normalising said indicators, which are set according to standard conditions, in other words, indicators in which the influence of context variables has been removed such as only to keep the influence of damage to the aircraft, the engine and the devices thereof; detecting anomalies and positioning said anomalies by means of statistical analysis tools and the knowledge of experts regarding the operation of the aircraft engine.
