METHOD FOR DRYING SULFIDE CONCENTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method which can reduce sulfur oxide concentration in exhaust gas during a process of drying a sulfide concentrate serving as a raw material for non-ferrous refining.

SOLUTION: The method for drying the sulfide concentrate comprises adding and mixing the sulfide concentrate containing a clay component having a zeolite structure as a part of the sulfide concentrate charged into a material drying furnace, to adsorb generated sulfur oxide gas. Preferably, the addition and mixing ratio of the clay component having the zeolite structure is 0.1-0.8 wt.% based on the sulfur concentrate raw material charged into the material drying furnace. The dried sulfur concentrate containing the clay component having the zeolite structure onto which the sulfur oxide gas has adsorbed can be immediately fed to a smelting step.
