<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress scumming and insufficient development density in a direct recording system, as compared with conventional methods. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image forming device of a direct recording system includes a toner carrying roller 2, having a plurality of electrodes disposed along the surface on which toner is carried; and a toner supply roller 18 for supplying toner to the surface, and a toner friction blade 22 for friction-charging the toner on the surface, and develops a latent image by transferring the toner on the surface to the latent image on a photoreceptor 49, while causing hopping by an electric field formed by the potential difference between electrodes in the plurality of the electrodes, uses the toner whose shape factor SF-1 is within a range of 100-180 and shape factor SF-2 is within a range of 100-140.
