PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of efficiently removing dust stuck and deposited inside a dust collecting bag. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes a cord reel 29 around which a power cord 28 is wound, and a dust removing means 27 for removing the dust stuck to the dust collecting bag 19 for catching the dust. The dust removing means 27 includes a sliding lever 36 to be periodically slid in association with the cord reel 29 to be rotated when the power cord 28 is pulled out and/or housed, and a diaphragm 26 periodically operated in association with the sliding lever 36 to vibrate the dust collecting bag 19. By providing the turning shaft 59 of the diaphragm 26 on the center part of the diaphragm 26, vibrations are added on a plurality of abutting surfaces with the dust collecting bag 19, thereby allowing efficient removal of the dust stuck and deposited inside the dust collecting bag. Thus, the decline of suction air is reduced, and a dust collecting performance is improved.
