摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent measurement errors from occurring in image processing of photographed images caused by deviation of the position and direction of a camera for a device and a method for automatically calibrating cameras. SOLUTION: At least two sets of plane-symmetrical feature points in plane-symmetrical objects are extracted from the photographed image of a camera including a plane-symmetrical object having a plurality of sets of plane-symmetrical feature points in reference to a prescribed reference surface as a photographing target. Then, based on at least two sets of plane-symmetrical feature points of the plane-symmetrical object to be extracted, reference surface parameters specifying a prescribed reference surface and configurative surface parameters for specifying a plane-symmetrical configurable surface including at least two sets of plane-symmetrical feature points of the plane-symmetrical object are derived. Based on the derived reference surface parameters and configurable plane parameters, rotation parameters and translational parameters indicating the correspondence between the photographing target and the camera are updated.
