PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a service providing node for updating the software of a plurality of nodes without deteriorating the reliability of a service to be provided by a cluster system. SOLUTION: A service providing node 100 periodically transmits heart beat 151 including the version information of a program to a monitoring node 500. The monitoring node 500 receives node list information 161 including program information collected from a plurality of service providing nodes 100, 200, 300 and 400 by the heart beat 151. The service providing node 100 selects the other service providing node being the object of program update from the program information, and another service providing node selected as the object of update transmits the instruction of the update of the program as well as update timing information for instructing update to another service providing node to the selected other service providing node.
