The method involves regenerating a particle filter (9) i.e. wall-flow-filter, via application of energy stream into exhaust gas stream (3), where the energy stream is defined by stationary coordination. Shear phase of an internal combustion engine (5) of a motor vehicle (7) is recognized, during the re-generation. The particle filter is regenerated via application of another energy stream into the exhaust gas stream, where the latter energy stream is defined by dynamic coordination, after recognition of the shear phase for duration of a pre-determined time interval.
