Method and wire stitcher for processing printed sheets

The method involves cutting side pieces of printed sheets (14) by a cutter (3a) e.g. three-cutter, where the sheets are arranged on a stitcher chain (1) by sheet feeders (2a-2c). The cutter is arranged after one of the feeders such that a sequence of the feeders and the cutter is formed, where a position of the cutter within the sequence is changed after the sheets to be cut. The feeders are shifted via the chain by changing the position of the cutter within the sequence to close gap between the feeders and/or produce a place for the cutter. An independent claim is also included for a wire stitcher including a stitcher chain.
