The heat accumulator with the heat source and/or the heat consumer in each case is connected in a circuit guiding the emulsion. The emulsion is heated directly by a heater (9), which directly or indirectly heats a heat exchanger (5) and is circulated by an agitator or pump. The heat accumulator exhibits an expansion container for compensating latent heat storage volumes.
