Changing operating parameters between a home NodeB and a mobile terminal

A home NodeB (HNB) (11) is provided that can be triggered to dynamically change its operating radio parameters, such as its transmission frequency or its primary scrambling code without having to be rebooted and which communicates the changed operating parameters to the mobile terminal (MT) (3) served thereby. The HNB (11) transmits the new operating parameters and an activation time to MT (3) depending on the mode of MT (3). The mode of MT (3) can be 'connected' or 'idle'. After the change of the operating parameters in MT (3) is complete a confirmation is transmitted to HNB (11) and HNB (11) starts to communicate with MT (3) using the new operating parameters. In this way a seamless changeover of the operating parameters can be provided that is transparent to users. The HNB (11) may be triggered to change operating parameters by the mobile operating network (8) or by an internal procedure.
