OPITCAL DISK DRIVE AND OPERATING METHODS THEREOF

PURPOSE: An optical disk drive and an operating method thereof are provided to perform accurate record and reproduction by compensating the tilt of a pickup device. CONSTITUTION: An optical disk drive comprises a pickup device(130) and a servo error compensator(140). The pickup device records or reads data in or from an optical disc. The servo error compensator generates a tilt control signal compensating the tilt of the optical disk and the tilt of the pickup device caused by the eccentric displacement of the optical disc on the basis of the data read out by the pickup device. The pickup device includes a servo controller which controls the tilt of the optical disk and the tilt of the pickup device by responding to the tilt control signal.
