PURPOSE: An interior permanent magnet type brushless direct current motor and a compressor having the same are provided to suppress the vibration and noise due to torque ripple by forming a notch unit between pole portions. CONSTITUTION: A stator(140) includes a plurality of slots and a stator coil(145) which is wound around the slots. A rotor includes a rotation shaft, a rotation core, and a permanent magnet(171). The permanent magnet is inserted into a permanent magnet insertion unit(154). The rotator includes a notch unit which is formed between pole portions which are formed by a permanent magnet.
