<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent forming a continuous porous film having excellent humidity control properties and satisfactory gas adsorption. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coating agent for forming the continuous porous film having humidity control/gas adsorption properties includes at least an inorganic porous material having 1 to 10 nm average pore radius, ≥80 m<SP>2</SP>/g specific surface area and ≤80 μm average particle diameter, a porous film forming material and at least one salt compound selected from the group consisting of lithium chloride, sodium chloride, magnesium chloride and calcium chloride.
