<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting tool for a vehicle for preventing operation failure caused by mechanical changeover between low beams and high beams. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting tool for the vehicle includes a light source part, a reflecting polarizer arranged in a light path of irradiation light from the light source part, transmitting a polarizing component of the irradiation light from the light source part oscillating in its own polarizing transmission axis direction, while reflecting that oscillating in a direction other than its own polarizing transmission direction, and liquid crystal elements arranged in a light path of the polarizing component transmitting the reflective polarizer for the polarizing component to transmit. The liquid crystal elements are to either transmit the polarizing component in case it oscillates in its own polarizing transmission axis direction, or to reach the reflecting polarizer reflecting the polarizing component in case the polarizing component oscillates in a direction other than its polarizing transmission axis direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
