<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exchange server capable of greatly reducing an increase in introduction cost and a time and labor of a user by synchronizing contact lists between devices without human assistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The exchange server includes: a device information storing part 11 having a device capability table 111 obtained by making the device capability of a communication device received by a device capability information receiving part 14 associated with each communication device, a device group table 112 for putting together communication devices in each group, and a master device information storing part 113 for storing the determination information of a master device determining part 12 for determining a communication device having the maximum capability in the device capability information stored in the device capability table as a master device in the device group; and a master device information transmitting part 15 for notifying the communication devices of the device group of the master device information.
