<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a manufacturing cost of a coaxial wire by reducing the number of metal strands to manufacture a metal braided shield wire while maintaining conventional performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The number of strands (two strands for example) and the number of bundles (8 bundles for example) to put together the metal strands of the metal braided shield wire 6 are set so that the wire has coarse mesh density to form an area portion 6a where an aluminum foil tape 4 is exposed from each mesh 6A. Thereby, double shielding functions by the aluminum tape 4 and the metal braided shield wire 6 can be obtained, and the area portion 6a where the aluminum foil tape 4 is exposed from each mesh 6A of the metal braided shield wire 6 is formed. However, since an almost straight line-like drain wire 5 brought into contact with the aluminum foil tape 4 (conductive surface) and the metal stranded shield wire 6 severally and placed along an axial length direction is wired, electrical affinity is increased, a shielding function is improved, performance unchanged from that of a conventional coaxial wire can be maintained, the number of strands and the number of bundles to put together the metal strands can be reduced, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
