<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bluish tone upon black display in an IPS liquid crystal display of a normally black display. <P>SOLUTION: In the IPS liquid crystal display of a normally black display, a liquid crystal layer comprises a liquid crystal composition containing a compound represented by structural formula 1. In the structural formula 1, m and n each denotes 0 or 1, Z<SB>1</SB>, Z<SB>2</SB>, Z<SB>3</SB>and Z<SB>4</SB>each denotes a cyclohexane ring or a benzene ring, A<SB>1</SB>, A<SB>2</SB>and A<SB>3</SB>each denotes a substituent including only a direct single bond or a saturated bond with no interposed atom and any one of Z<SB>1</SB>, Z<SB>2</SB>, Z<SB>3</SB>and Z<SB>4</SB>has an electron-donating group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
