PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for favorably manufacturing an aluminum clad material which is used for manufacturing a heating component cooling device having high thermal fatigue durability, suitable for a thermal stress mitigating material, and excellent in surface joining property. SOLUTION: A compound billet 30 has a structure in which a skin material 34 having the predetermined thickness and consisting of an Al-Si based alloy brazing filler metal is superposed on or wound around a columnar core material 32 consisting of high-purity aluminum with the content of inevitable impurities being≤0.1 mass% and with the aluminum purity being≥99.9 mass%.
